Opal is found in colors such as Colorless, white, yellow, red, orange, green, brown, black, blue, pink. Opal hardness is 5.5–6 hardness according to mohs scale with 2.15 Specific gravity. Opal is a Single refractive gemstone, often anomalous double refractive due to strain. Precious opal displays play-of-color (iridescence), common opal does not show the play of color. these two things are broad classes of opal.
