The Natural Chrysoberyl Cat’s Eye is a highly prized gemstone renowned for its striking optical phenomenon known as chatoyancy. This effect creates a distinctive, bright band of light that moves across the surface of the stone, resembling the slit eye of a cat. This specific gem is a 3.04-carat, yellowish-green, round cabochon (8.11 x 7.99 x 5.23 mm) boasting VVS clarity. It is a natural, unheated stone certified by a recognized gemological laboratory.

Origin and Cutting Journey

This gemstone originates from the historic gem mines of Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, famously known as the “City of Gems.” It was meticulously hand-cut by Mr. Sunil, a highly experienced cat’s eye cutter. The stone was cut from a massive 11-carat rough crystal. Through expert precision and grading to maximize the perfect central light band, the rough was reduced to a nice 3.04-carat finished gem. This documented journey, from rough to finish, highlights the artisan’s dedication to revealing the stone’s hidden soul.
