Ceylon Natural Yellow Sapphire 1.18 Ct – Unheated Oval Step Cut from Dela Village, Ratnapura

 Yellow Sapphire is a precious gemstone belonging to the Natural Corundum species, admired worldwide for its brilliance, durability, and astrological importance. When sourced directly from Sri Lanka and confirmed as unheated, it represents one of the purest forms of yellow sapphire available in today’s gemstone market.

This 1.18 carat Natural Yellow Sapphire measures 7.17 x 5.05 x 3.49 mm and is beautifully fashioned into an oval step cut. The stone displays a vibrant yet balanced yellow color, with VVS clarity that ensures exceptional transparency and brilliance. Its proportions allow light to travel evenly through the crown and pavilion, producing a lively and refined glow.

The journey of this gemstone began as a 3.19 ct facet-grade rough crystal measuring 9.5 x 6.4 x 5.5 mm, sourced from Dela village around mining in Sri Lanka. Ratnapura, historically known as the “City of Gems,” has been one of the world’s most respected sapphire-producing regions for centuries. Stones from this region are valued for their brightness, clean crystal structure, and balanced color saturation.

After careful evaluation, the rough was cut under close supervision to preserve weight while enhancing symmetry and light return. From 3.19 ct rough, the final 1.18 ct finished gemstone emerged with strong brilliance and structural integrity.

Importantly, this sapphire is completely natural and unheated. Many yellow sapphires in the global trade undergo heat treatment to intensify color. This stone remains untreated, maintaining its natural formation and original character.

The gemstone is certified by CSL – Colored Stone Laboratory, Certification confirms species (Natural Corundum), variety (Natural Yellow Sapphire), and treatment status (No indication of heating).

Astrologically, Yellow Sapphire is associated with Jupiter, symbolizing prosperity, wisdom, spiritual growth, and protection against negative energy. Traditionally worn on the right-hand index finger, it is connected to Pisces and Sagittarius and linked to the Solar Plexus Chakra.
