Goshenite is a colorless variety of mineral beryl. This is 9.60 Cts Goshenite from Sri Lanka. When we check the stone by Microscope, We could see special Inclusion called “Three-phase Inclusion“. It has one colorless gas bubble and tiny black crystal in rectangular inclusion.
Three-phase inclusions are normally formed when homogeneous fluid trapped into a cavity separates in three different phases. It can be seen mostly liquid-solid-vapor inclusions and liquid-liquid-vapor inclusions containing two immiscible liquids. Three phase inclusions can be seen mostly in Emerald, Goshenite, Phenakite, Rock crystal quartz, Topaz.
Beryl is a mineral composed of beryllium aluminum cyclosilicate with the chemical formula Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈. Beryl is hexagonal mineral with 7.5 – 8 hardness according to the more hardness scale. Beryl hexagonal Crystals can be up to several meters in the size. But, Double terminated crystals are very rare to see.

Beryl can be found as translucent or transparent with 2.63 – 2.92 specific gravity. It is Uniaxial (-) mineral with nω = 1.568 – 1.602 nε = 1.564 – 1.595 refractive indexes. Some Morganite has weak violet fluorescence under UV light. Beryl has Vitreous, Sub-Vitreous, Waxy or Greasy luster.
