Chrysoberyl cat's eye is a gemstone variety of beryllium aluminum oxide which exhibits optical effect known as 'chatoyancy' that contains large numbers of fibrous inclusions can produce a " Chatoyant " a line of light across the surface of the stone that orients perpendicular to the included fibers. that resembles the slit eye of a cat, hence the name 'cat's eye'.
