About Yellow Sapphire Gemstones
The yellow color in sapphire is primarily caused by the presence of iron within the crystal structure. Stones with even color distribution and good transparency are considered the most valuable.
Major sources of yellow sapphire include Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Madagascar, Thailand, Myanmar, and Tanzania. Many yellow sapphires are heat-treated to enhance color and clarity; untreated stones are rarer and especially prized. All gemstone treatments should always be clearly disclosed.
Yellow sapphire is also known as Pukhraj in Vedic astrology and is traditionally associated with prosperity, wisdom, and success.
