Padparadscha Sapphire
Padparadscha Sapphire
Padparadscha Sapphire is one of the rarest and most desirable varieties of sapphire, celebrated for its delicate blend of pink and orange hues, often compared to the color of a tropical lotus flower at sunset. The name Padparadscha comes from the Sinhalese word for “lotus blossom,” reflecting its Sri Lankan heritage.
Belonging to the corundum family, padparadscha sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, making it exceptionally durable and suitable for fine jewelry. Its soft yet vibrant color makes it especially sought after for engagement rings, heirloom pieces, and bespoke designs.
This category features carefully selected padparadscha sapphires chosen for balanced color, clarity, and expert cutting.

About Padparadscha Sapphire Gemstones
Padparadscha sapphires owe their unique pink-orange color to a delicate balance of chromium and iron within the crystal structure. Stones with a harmonious blend—neither too pink nor too orange—are considered the most valuable.
The most famous and historically significant padparadscha sapphires originate from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), though stones are also found in Madagascar and Tanzania. Many padparadscha sapphires are untreated, while some may be heat-treated; all treatments should always be clearly disclosed.
Because of their rarity and strict color requirements, true padparadscha sapphires are often accompanied by gemological certification.
