Padparadscha is the gem species known as the king of the corundum family. Compared to other sapphire colors, this is very rare and unique, So it has a very high value in the market. It’s very popular for uncommon jewelry designs in the industry. When buying thousands of sapphires, only a very small percentage of padparadscha sapphires are found.
Padparadscha sapphire is a rare orangey-pink or pinkish-orange color of sapphire that was first identified in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is one of the main sources of the highest quality padparadscha sapphires. Padparadscha is a gem species that has gained high value and fame in the gem market since ancient times.
This pear-shaped padparadscha stone was found in a mine in Embilipitiya, Sri Lanka. I bought this stone in rough form and did the shaping myself. Sent to gem cutter for polishing. after finishing, We got certified by an authorized gem laboratory. no, any treatment, it’s a 100% natural stone.

Sapphire deposits are found in Eastern Australia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China, Vietnam, Madagascar, Greenland, East Africa, and in North America in mostly in Montana. Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Kashmir produce large quantities of fine quality Sapphires for the world market. Sapphires are mined from alluvial deposits or from primary underground workings.
Sapphires can be treated by several methods to enhance and improve their clarity and colour. A common method is done by heating the sapphires in furnaces to temperatures between 500 and 1,850 °C for several hours, or by heating in a nitrogen-deficient atmosphere oven for 1 week or more. Geuda is a form of the mineral corundum. Geuda is found primarily in Sri Lanka. It’s a semitransparent and milky appearance due to rutile inclusions. Geuda is used to improve its colour by heat treatment. Some geuda varieties turn to a blue colour after heat treatments and some turn to red after oxidizing. Also, Kowangu pushparaga turns to yellow sapphire after oxidizing.

A variety of different inclusions can form within a natural sapphire. Each has different implications on the gemstone’s visibility and sparkle or light performance. Inclusions are a natural consequence of crystal growth and even the best stones are not expected to be totally inclusion-free. It can be seen inclusions in sapphires such as Needles, Mineral Crystals, Feathers, Fingerprints and etc. Basically, SI, VS, VVS, IF clarity grades are used in commercial grade stones. Opaque, included and lifeless sapphires are in a lower grade and have low value in the gemstone industry, and not used in fine jewelry.
